Nasal colonazation in relatively healthy children by clinical examination in Al-Zahraa teaching hospital in Al-Najaf City

Background: Nasal colonization by bacterial pathogens is linked to the risk of invasive infections, which are a leading cause mortality in children globally. While viruses primary respiratory tract infections (RTIs), bacteria contribute localized such as sinusitis, pneumonia, and meningitis. Most remains asymptomatic but can become vulnerable hosts. Study Objective: The goal this study was screen for nasal potential analyze correlation between carriage rate various socio-demographic factors.Patients Method: This cross-sectional involved healthy examine pathogens. conducted at laboratory unit Al-Zahra Teaching Hospital Maternity Children Al Najaf city, Iraq, from January October 2016. swabs were tested five prevalent pathogens: Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, parainfluenzae, Moraxella catarrhalis, Staphylococcus aureus. A total 100 (1- < 12 years old) included, identified using standard techniques. Results: overall 33%, with pneumoniae aureus accounting 11% 22%, respectively. found no statistically significant differences age, gender, residency, social level, attendance concerning these two bacteria.Conclusions: revealed common pathogenic bacteria, including pneumoniae.
